ENG: Here I go again, with another Step by Step tutorial, this time, painting a LI unit, so the techniques I apply on this one can be translated for another LI, changing colours and schemes as you like.
First of all, priming. This being a miniature with a light colour scheme, i chose to begin priming with a mix between White (Vallejo Model Color) and a bit of French Mirage Blue (Vallejo Model Color)
CARA - FACE
The skin is always the trickiest part, and that's why i prefer to deal with it at the beggining, so that I don't have to paint it at the end, when i may be tired and may not put all my efforts to it. For gaming level painting, the easiest and more common way to deal with the lights is to pick the cenital light (dome light I think it's translated into english). To begin the skin, I apply a dark skin base colour, this time I use a mix between Scorched Brown (Citadel) and Macharius Solar Orange (Foundation), but i recommend to do several test until you find the skin colour you prefer.
To begin with the highlights, y add to the base mix, a bit of Light Flesh (VMC) and I apply it all over the skin, except for the bends and darkest areas
Next, I apply a wash all over the skin with Gryphonne Sepia (Citadel Washes)
Now, I add some more Light Flesh to the previous colour mixture, and highlight the prominent areas, leaving part of the previous colour to be seen in the darkest areas
Once we're done, I apply some highlights, this time with Light Flesh alone, on the prominent parts of the face (forehead, nose, cheeks...)
And finally, I apply the final highlights with a mixture of Bleached Bone (Citadel) and Light Flesh, in some parts of the forehead.
I apply a mixture of French Mirage Blue (VMC) and Black (VMC) as a base colour for the hair.
Before I start highlighting the hair, I couldn't help to wait to paint his eyes, and this is the result. I will work on it later, because i'm not very happy with the way the left eye came out... it's soooo small. You can find lots of methods to paint eyes all over the internet.
Próximamente, más anvances. Estad atentos!
Next steps coming soon. Stay tuned!
